Spirit of Troy Band Camp is underway, all digital this year. (And just how does one virtually “hold the chair” anyway?) Because of the pandemic, it will be far different than what we experienced – but not even a pandemic can put a stop to band camp. It’s also a good time to recall some of our favorite band camp memories –although some of you may want to check certain statutes of limitations.
So, we are once again opening the TMB Cantina on Thursday, Aug. 13, at 6 p.m. Pacific time to revive our Thirsty Thursday traditions. (Check your email or visit Spirit of Troy Alumni Band on Facebook for Zoom info. We don’t want to publish that here because this is a public site.)
Be prepared to drag out those “one time at band camp” stories, if you are so inclined. Yes, it is short notice, but it’s a pop-up pandemic party to reflect the times, via Zoom. Join us! Space is limited – first come, first served – so log in early. Bring your own libations, and we’ll see you there! Fight On!
What’s next: Save the date: Aug. 30 to celebrate a certain band director’s 80th birthday. We’re planning a drive-by celebration and more in the Southern California area. (That’s “drive” as in your car; not marching.) Location and time still TBD. Stay tuned for more details.
